Introduction to Blockchain October 30, 2018

October 30, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Waterloo Engineering Group will present a 60-minute overview of the new and exciting technology known as ‘Blockchain’, at the River Forest Library on October 30, 2018

Blockchain is most commonly associated with its role in crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, however it has many other non-currency applications, and is being tested for use in government, supply chains, insurance, banking, etc. The longer-term effect of Blockchain is claimed to be more disruptive to business than the Internet.

This hour-long presentation will provide a coherent overview of blockchain:

– the basics of the technology
– the applications where it is working today
– where it is being tested for future use, and
– how to determine if or where it is applicable to business situations.

There will be a question/answer session after the presentation.

If you have heard or read about Blockchain, and are curious to learn more about it, please plan on attending.
